The Texas Society of Architects recently bestowed the 2025 Studio Award on the plans for the new Canutillo and Alderete middle schools, set to start construction this fall, as reported by Canutillo ISD. These designs didn’t just appear out of thin air; they are a result of a partnership between DLR Group and Root Architects, who drew inspiration from the natural allure of the region and the district’s progressive learning objectives.
Running the show behind the scenes, Procedeo Group has been tasked with managing the projects on behalf of Canutillo ISD. As per Canutillo ISD, Board President Armando Rodriguez hailed the design, saying, “The design of our new middle schools reflects Canutillo’s bold vision as a leader in Texas education and as a transformative force in the El Paso region.” He touted the award as indicative of local creativity and commitment, suggesting that it reflects the community’s united efforts in striving for its highest potential.
