El Paso Man Edgar Ivan Soto Re-Arrested Following Escape Attempt During Domestic Disturbance Response

An escape attempt by a man with an active warrant ended with a swift re-arrest, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office reported. Deputies were responding to a domestic disturbance call at an apartment complex on the 3600 block of Krag Street when they encountered 34-year-old Edgar Ivan Soto.

According to El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte, in a social media post, Soto was initially detained without incident on July 29, around 4:30 p.m., during the domestic disturbance investigation. However, things took a turn when the handcuffed Soto decided to flee, prompting a foot chase by deputies.

The pursuit was short-lived, and Soto was apprehended again, adding an escape charge to his already pending allegations. “We are tough on crime,” Sheriff Ugarte proclaimed in his post detailing the incident. “If you run from us, we will catch you and take you to jail,” as per El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte.
