El Paso expands park shade structures to beat the heat

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — As temperatures soar, the City of El Paso is taking steps to provide relief by installing shade structures in parks across the city.

“Being that it’s hot in El Paso, that’s what people need,” said Dominique Dowell.

Another resident, Skyler added, “It keeps [kids] out here all day long, and it gives them more opportunity to go out, and then actually go home for lunch if need be, and then be able to come back out rather than stay home, because it gets too hot in the middle of the day.”…
