El Paso residents voice concerns over proposed housing and parking changes

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — City leaders in El Paso are proposing changes to parking and housing regulations in an effort to address the city’s affordable housing challenges.

The proposal aims to transform underutilized areas into development hotspots by allowing the construction of accessory dwelling units and removing minimum parking requirements in parts of downtown.

Alex Hoffman, Deputy Director of Planning for the City of El Paso, said, “We’re looking to remove some of the barriers to people building it in their backyards.”…
