12-hour partial road closure near El Paso Airport begins Sunday

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Texas Department of Transportation has released a list of road closures for the week of Friday, Aug. 22, that may affect your commute, including a 12-hour partial road closure on Sunday, Aug. 24, near the El Paso International Airport.

Maintenance

Sunday, Aug. 24, from 3 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • I-10 West between Airway and Geronimo, three right lanes closed.
  • Airway entrance ramp to I-10 West closed.

Crews will be working on bridge joints.

I-10 Widening West

Monday, Aug. 24 through Saturday, Aug. 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (as needed)

  • North and South Desert between Vinton and Thorn alternate lane closures.

Crews will be working on electrical and miscellaneous construction work.

I-10 Widening West 2

Monday, Aug. 25 through Saturday, Aug. 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • I-10 east and westbound between Anthony and Nashua alternate lane closures.
  • North and South Desert between Anthony and Nashua alternate lane closures.

Crews will be conducting dirt work and removing miscellaneous materials.

Sunday, Aug. 24 through Saturday, Aug. 30, nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

  • I-10 east and westbound between Anthony and Nashua left lane closed.

Crews will be performing concrete placement for new pavement surface.

Artcraft

Monday, Aug. 25 through Friday, Aug. 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Artcraft east and westbound between State Line and Doniphan alternate lane closures.
  • Crews will be performing illumination installation and delivering construction material.
  • South Desert between Clarkstone and Blue Sky alternate lane closures.
  • North Desert between Helen of Troy and Northern Pass alternate lane closures.

Crews will be loading and unloading material and equipment.

Transmountain Rehab

Monday, Aug. 25 through Friday, Aug. 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Loop 375 (Transmountain) east- and westbound between Tom Mays and Main Gap, left lane closed.

Crews will be working on punch list items.

Borderland Expressway Phase 2

Monday, Aug. 25 through Friday, Aug. 29, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • US-54 east and westbound between Mesquite Hills and McCombs alternate lane closures.
  • McCombs north and southbound between US-54 and Stan Roberts alternate lane closures.

Crews will be constructing traffic detours and installing portable concrete traffic barriers.

Mesa Safety Lighting

Monday, Aug. 25 through Saturday, Aug. 30, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Mesa west and eastbound between Champion and Fountain left lane closed.
  • Mesa west and eastbound between North Desert and Remcon right lane closed.
  • Mesa west and eastbound between Champion and Alto Mesa right lane closed.

Crews will be working on lighting improvements.

Loop 375 Border Highway Safety Lighting

Monday, Aug. 25 through Friday, Aug. 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Loop 375 westbound between Fonseca and San Marcial shoulder work.

Long-term closure

  • Loop 375 eastbound at Delta between Cypress and Customs right lane closed.

Crews will be working on lighting improvements.

Road Repairs

Sunday, Aug. 24, nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

  • Gateway West at Airway two left lanes closed.

Monday, Aug. 25, nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

  • Gateway West at Airway two right lanes closed.

Tuesday, Aug. 26 through Thursday, Aug. 28, nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

  • I-10 eastbound between Mesa Park and Piedras

Crews will be working on road repairs.

Guardrail Repair

From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Monday, Aug. 25

  • US-54 northbound between Trowbridge and Cassidy left lane closed.

Tuesday, Aug. 26

  • US-54 northbound at Hondo Pass on-ramp closed.

Wednesday, Aug. 27

  • US-54 northbound on-ramp C to I-10 westbound and off-ramp at Copia closed.

Thursday, Aug. 28

  • I-10 eastbound between Executive and Schuster right lane closed.

Friday, Aug. 29

  • Loop 375 eastbound between Yarbrough and Padres right lane closed.

Flexible Pavement

Monday, Aug. 25 through Tuesday, Aug. 26

  • US-85 eastbound between Executive and Asarco right lane closed.
