El Paso Police arrest man in suspected road rage shooting

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — An 18-year-old man was recently arrested after a possible road rage incident led to a shooting on Thursday, Aug. 14, in Northwest El Paso, according to the El Paso Police Department (EPPD).

Elijah Gabriel Marquez Duran, 18, from Las Cruces, was arrested on Aug. 20 and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon under a $100,000 bond. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.

On Aug. 14, officers responded to a shooting near the intersection of Enchanted Springs and Bluff Creek, a new subdivision in the area near The Hospitals of Providence at Transmountain campus.

As KTSM 9 News previously reported, the victim, later identified as 41-year-old Daniel Torres, was airlifted via FireStar to a hospital. His injuries appeared not to be life-threatening, according to El Paso Fire.
