EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 63-year-old man was arrested after authorities said he falsely reported a break-in at his home and went so far as to discharge a shotgun in his home to deceive police investigators.
Tracy Robert Wright is facing multiple charges, including discharge of a firearm within the City limits and false alarm or report, following an hours-long police standoff that prompted a large police response.
On Thursday around 8:27 a.m., Wright is accused of calling 911, claiming that multiple people were attempting to break into his home in the 11900 block of Paseo Del Rey. El Paso Police Officer Adrian Cisneros told reporters on Thursday that when officers arrived they heard gunshots from within the home.

Wright, who had made contact with responding officers, initially told police that his nephew and several other individuals had tried to break into his house. Police said Wright, further claimed to have fired at the alleged intruders as they made their way inside.
