Financial help could be on the way for Sandy Creek residents ahead of potential tax hike

AUSTIN, Texas — Residents of Sandy Creek have growing concerns with a tax hike proposed by the county to help pay for recovery efforts after the July 4 floods, but help is on the way for those impacted.

Last month, the Travis County Commissioners Court proposed an 8% tax hike to help pay for the relief.
