Holocaust Museum, high school among buildings to be demolished in TxDOT Downtown I-10 plan

The El Paso Holocaust Museum, four small apartment buildings, a charter high school, and a high-profile office building would be demolished under a preferred plan for the proposed, $1.3 billion, Downtown I-10 expansion project.

The proposed building acquisitions, most of them in the heart of Downtown El Paso, and subsequent demolitions are outlined in the project’s Draft Environmental Impact Statement recently published by the Texas Department of Transportation, or TxDOT.

Agency officials will hold an open-house style public hearing on the draft report on Sept. 16; a virtual public hearing will be available online for about a month…
