EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Approximately 2,500 troops from the 2nd Armored BrigadeCombat Team, 1st Armored Division at Fort Bliss, are preparing to support the southern border mission from the 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division at Fort Carson, Colorado, this fall.
While the brigade headquarters will remain and operate at Fort Bliss, it will deploy troops to various locations along the southern border to carry out directed missions to secure the border and protect the territorial integrity of the United States, according to a news release sent by the 1st Armored Division.
