Commuters in El Paso faced unexpected delays this morning as traffic on I-10 East ground to a halt following a vehicular mishap. The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has reported that the Vinton exit off I-10 East was closed due to a rollover accident, causing significant congestion in the area. El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte informed the public of the incident and the subsequent traffic diversions in place.

El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte took to social media to alert the community, saying, “Traffic Alert: I-10 East at the Vinton exit is closed due to a rollover.” Traffic has been rerouted onto Doniphan Drive, an alternate thoroughfare expected to support the extra load; however, travelers should brace for delays as the vehicles are redirected off the interstate. The estimated time for clearing the site and resuming normal traffic flow stands at approximately two hours.
