Last evening, the Socorro Police Department took to the streets, not in pursuit of crime, but to honor the smallest of warriors, the children fighting against cancer. In a heartfelt display of support during the Heroes in Gold Parade, uniforms blended with gold, as these officers paid tribute to young lives grappling with a monumental challenge.
In a show of unity, the parade, hosted by El Paso Children’s Hospital in partnership with Gold Out El Paso, wrapped up Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. As the Socorro community, including law enforcement, came together, they aimed to not just raise awareness but also uplift those affected.
