EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — The newly identified suspect in the 1991 Yogurt Shop Murders passed through the Borderland less than 48 hours after the murders, Austin police confirmed Monday.
Robert Eugene Brashers, who died by suicide in 1999, was linked through DNA testing to the Dec. 6, 1991, murders of Jennifer Harbison, Sarah Harbison, Eliza Thomas, and Amy Ayers, Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis said at a press conference Monday.
The identity of Brashers comes after more than 34 years since the teenage girls were found gagged, tied up with their own clothing, and shot in the head in an I Can’t Believe It’s Yogurt! shop in Austin. The person responsible had also set the shop on fire, compromising much of the evidence…
