Former cheerleading coach arrested again, charged with more counts of invasive recording

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The man who was previously arrested for recording other individuals without their consent at an El Paso gym for youth cheerleading organizations was recently arrested again for the same offense, according to El Paso County jail records.

Jail records state Christopher Sotelo was charged with five more counts of invasive recording on Wednesday, Oct. 1, and was booked into the El Paso County Jail on Thursday, Oct. 2, under a total cash or surety bond of $185,000.

As KTSM 9 News previously reported, Sotelo, a former cheerleader coach with the Texas Bandits All-Stars cheerleading organization, was arrested in August and charged with two counts of invasive visual recording.

The owners of the Texas Bandits All-Stars cheerleading organization confirmed Sotelo was once employed with them but was fired after the incident.

Court documents obtained by KTSM say that employees working at the gym found two recording devices in the bathrooms…
