EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A new slang term, “Shrek’n,” has emerged on social media, sparking discussions among students at the University of Texas at El Paso.
The term refers to the concept of “dating down,” where individuals date someone they perceive as less attractive with the expectation of being treated better.
One UTEP student remarked, “I learned of this term five minutes ago, but, and in complete honesty, I think that the term is just a better representation of how much social media has on affecting contemporary language per se.”…
