El Paso Man Arrested on Arson Charges After Fire at Marmolejo Apartments Claims Life of Dog

A 38-year-old man in El Paso has been placed under arrest on the charges of arson, following an apartment complex fire in the Lower Valley that resulted in the death of a dog. According to KTSM, the El Paso Fire Department responded to a Condition 2 fire at the Marmolejo Apartments at 600 N. Carolina, which they reported on shortly before 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 2.

Additional charges against the man, identified as Cardona, include assault on a public servant, harassment of a public servant, and resisting arrest. This followed an investigation by the El Paso Fire Marshal’s Office and the El Paso Police, as documented by KVIA.
