El Paso sees its 47th traffic fatality this year, as reported by the El Paso Police Department. In a tragic incident on the streets of El Paso, a pedestrian lost his life after a collision at the intersection of 2100 N. Zaragoza and 2000 Sun Fire. Initial findings disclosed by the department’s Special Traffic Investigations unit offer a sobering account of the events leading up to the fatality. Luis Francisco Salcido, identified as the pedestrian, was reported to be crossing Zaragoza/Sunfire against the do not cross sign, making it only to the center median before stepping off and being struck by an oncoming 2016 GMC Yukon towing a tow dolly.
