Lower Valley apartment fire allegedly sparked by lover’s quarrel, resulting in dog’s death

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Police documents reveal that the apartment fire in the Lower Valley that killed a dog was sparked by a lover’s quarrel.

According to the arrest affidavit, on Oct. 2, 38-year-old Manuel Cardona set fire to his girlfriend’s bedroom and belongings after he confronted her, accusing her of cheating on him.

This happened at the apartment complex located on the 600 block of N. Carolina Street, at around 1 a.m…
