Docs: Man shoots ex-wife’s boyfriend for ‘vandalizing’ his truck during Fabens concert

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 39-year-old man was arrested after he shot and injured his ex-wife’s boyfriend for allegedly vandalizing his truck on Saturday, Oct. 18, during a concert in Fabens, according to court documents.

Orlando Alfonso Corona, 39, was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, under a $200,000 bond.

Shortly after 9:20 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18 El Paso County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a concert and off-roading event at Tequilas Center, located at 4950 S. Fabens Carlsbad Rd., about gunshots being fired. At the time, no victims were reported or identified by event security or by deputies, according to court documents.

Minutes later, deputies conducted a traffic stop on a black GMC Sierra pickup truck for a traffic violation at 4900 S. Fabens Carlsbad Rd. Deputies met with the driver, later identified as Corona, and asked if he had any weapons, to which Corona stated, “They told me to put it in the back.”…
