EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — The city of El Paso is set to break ground Wednesday on the new Sunset Amphitheater, an $80 million project in Northeast El Paso. Developed by Venu, a live entertainment venue developer, the amphitheater will seat approximately 12,500 guests.
Venu stated that the multi-seasonal venue will feature over 200 premium “firesuites,” which are private suites built around gas-powered fire pits with premium seating. The design also includes a canopied roof with heating for year-round events and a members-only Aikman Club, a premium space created with Troy Aikman, offering high-end amenities for its members.
City officials believe the project will enhance El Paso’s status as an entertainment destination and are supporting it with a performance-based incentive package of about $31 million. Venu estimates the amphitheater could generate approximately $2 billion in economic impact over the first ten years.
