Ysleta ISD trustee proposes academic calendar adjustments to combat low attendance

EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Ysleta Independent School District Trustee Chris Hernandez is proposing moving days in the academic calendar to address low student and teacher attendance following major holidays.

Hernandez claims that attendance data shows a significant drop in student presence the day after events like the Super Bowl where attendance dropped from the district’s average of 94.19% to 91.77%.
