EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Jalisco Cafe’s annual free meal tradition returns this Thanksgiving holiday for those in need of a hearty feast.
The free Thanksgiving Day dinner, which has been an El Paso fixture for over 20 years, will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 24, at Jalisco Cafe, located at 1029 E. 7th Ave.
“Struggling families, veterans, newcomers, and individuals from all walks of life are invited to enjoy the same traditional meal that many of us are fortunate to share,” said Hector Chavez, proprietor of Jalisco Cafe. “We’ve been blessed to serve El Paso since 1954, and this is our way of giving back to the community that has supported us. Our Thanksgiving is your Thanksgiving.”
Additionally, Jalisco Cafe is asking the community for contributions to help make the event “even more special” with donations of turkeys, canned vegetables, bottled water, sodas or desserts. If you wish to donate, you can drop off the items on Wednesday, Nov. 23. Monetary donations will also be accepted…
