Farmers’ protest continues, closes 3 border crossings

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Chihuahua farmers and agricultural workers’ protest continued on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at several border crossings.

On Tuesday morning, protesters arrived at the Tornillo-Guadalupe International Bridge, blocking the access to the cargo inspection area with several agricultural tractors.

With this action, three crossings have now been shut down as part of the protest, including the Bridge of the Americas, Santa Teresa, and Tornillo-Guadalupe, according to KTSM crews in Juarez.

Talks are now underway between farm leaders and Mexico’s federal government to reach agreements aimed at protecting the use of national water resources without harming agricultural producers…
