EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A first responder is used to helping people in emergency medical situations, but one man has a very different mission; showing Borderland firefighters they are appreciated by grilling delicious ribs and steaks for them. So far, he has done it for firefighters at six fire stations.
Aaron Duran says his passion has always been barbecuing, grilling, and cooking, as well as being a first responder.
“I know what it’s like to be in a job where a lot of times it feels thankless and unappreciated. This is my way of giving back to those first responders,” Duran said.
“Best BBQ I’ve had all year, hands down. You can tell that it was fresh, smoky… the taste and all that, the texture,” firefighter Philip Banks said. “We prayed together as a group. He led the prayer, which was awesome.”
To Duran, Banks said, “Brother, thank you. God bless you. I really do appreciate you.”…
