EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – A U.S. citizen driver and a Mexican “foot guide” are facing federal charges after allegedly getting caught transporting migrants in South Texas.
The charges stem from a Nov. 28 incident in which U.S. Border Patrol agents spotted two dark-colored vehicles – a black SUV and a pickup — approaching the Mexican border at La Grulla after dark.

The agents checked license plates and found that the Ford F-150 pickup had previously been involved in a migrant smuggling incident. Court records show the agents moved to intercept the Ford.
The driver allegedly made a sudden turn into a residential neighborhood in nearby Sullivan City after the Border Patrol activated emergency vehicle lights to make an immigration inspection.
