El Paso County witnessed a significant two-vehicle collision this past Saturday afternoon, which led to four people being injured and caused major traffic disruptions in the Montana Vista area. The accident occurred around 3:45 p.m. on Montana near Desert Meadows, as confirmed by the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office. The El Paso Fire Department reported that one victim was airlifted for medical attention using their FireSTAR helicopter. At the same time, another individual with serious injuries was transported by ambulance, both conditions highlighted by the severity of the crash.
Following the incident, the entirety of Montana Avenue was shut down in both directions. This closure, enacted to allow the Sheriff’s Office Special Traffic Investigations Unit to conduct its investigation, was initially estimated to last six hours.
