Water bills set to rise after rate increase approved by Sunland Park

Approximately 20,000 Sunland Park and Santa Teresa residents will see an increase to their water utility bill beginning Jan. 1, 2026.

On Dec. 3, the Sunland Park City Council approved a new rate structure for the Camino Real Regional Utility Authority that  provides water and wastewater services to Sunland Park and Santa Teresa. As co-owners of CRRUA, both the City of Sunland Park and Doña Ana County were required to approve the rate plan, along with the CRRUA Board of Directors.
