Arizona fugitive pleads guilty to assaulting Border Patrol agents

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – A man who admitted fleeing across state lines to avoid arrest, then ramming a stolen car into a U.S. Border Patrol vehicle has pleaded guilty to assault on a federal officer.

The charges against Christopher Jack Leach, 33, stem from a chain of events that began on March 31, when the Arizona resident learned a state warrant was out on his arrest.

Drug ring sold high-purity meth to undercover federal agents

According to court documents, Leach told his girlfriend Lacey Marie Teeter that he “wasn’t going to go back to jail” and instructed her to pack their belongings. The two went to the home of an acquaintance and asked to borrow a car to visit a friend’s house.

Court documents show the couple instead began to drive eastward with the intent of fleeing to Florida. But the acquaintance later found out Leach and Teeter did not arrive at their friend’s home and reported the vehicle as stolen…
