Thousands of Pothole Complaints Filed in El Paso, City Data Shows

EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — Data obtained by KFOX14/CBS4 reveals thousands of calls to the city’s 3-1-1 system reporting potholes over the past few years.

Data reveals the amount of potholes reported in El Paso for the past several years:

  • 2023 – 2,765 potholes reported
  • 2024 – 2,013 potholes reported
  • 2025 – 2,739 potholes reported as of November 17th

Randy Garcia, the city of El Paso’s street and maintenance director, said, “We roughly average currently about 4,000 work orders.”

The city allocates millions annually for street maintenance and repair, with approximately $7 million specifically for pothole repair and an additional $10 million for resurfacing activities…
