Borderland rings in new year with winter weather

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Happy Friday! After seeing back-to-back record highs and sunny skies, a major weather shift is coming to the region.

Tonight’s skies will be mostly cloudy with a low in the low 50s. Winds will blow on the calm end around 3-5 mph.

Saturday’s high will be in the low 70s with mostly sunny skies. Winds will be coming in from the west around 10-15 mph with gusts blowing around 20 mph at times. Partly cloudy skies will be present overnight, along with a low of around 50.

Cooler temperatures will be coming in Sunday. The high will still be above average in the upper 60s, but winds will be around 10-15 mph with gusts nearing 25 mph. Gusts will increase in the evening to around 25-30 mph with the chance of seeing rain and snow showers closer to midnight. The low will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s range…
