EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Happy New Year’s Eve! The region is saying goodbye to wintry weather for now as the southwest welcomes warmer temperatures over the forecast period.

Wednesday night is going to be quiet and calm weather-wise with a low in the upper 40s, low 50s, and winds around 3-5 mph. By the time of this report, there is a very slight chance of overnight showers that carry into your New Year’s Day.

Thursday is shaping up to be well above average with a high in the low 70s. Wind speeds will pick up, ranging 15-20 mph with gusts of up to 30 mph. The skies will be mostly sunny. The overnight low will be around 48 with mostly clear skies and winds around 10-15 mph.
