EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Dozens of El Pasoans kicked off the new year with a mountain hike Saturday morning, Jan. 3 at McKelligon Canyon, in what some described as the best way to get on track with their new year’s fitness resolutions.
“I would rather be out in the mountains seeing something or being with some great people, having some conversations while getting that exercise. To me, there’s no better way to get in shape,” said Paulie Abraham, an experienced hiker with “We Hike” – a volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to hiking safety, wellness education, and outdoor access in El Paso.
We Hike invited experienced and beginner hikers to its 2nd Annual Adventure Series to be part of their free hiking and wellness program. They describe the program as being suited for all ages, fitness levels and hiking experience.
