Man arrested for DWI, allegedly hitting deputy before fleeing

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 34-year-old man has been arrested for DWI and allegedly hitting a deputy before trying to flee on foot during a traffic stop in Northwest El Paso, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Eduardo Garcia, 34, was arrested on Friday, Jan. 2 and is being charged with DWI second offense, resisting arrest, search or transport, evading arrest or detention and assault on a peace officer. His bonds totaled $14,500…
