Sports complex renamed to honor El Paso businessman Richard A. Castro

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso City Council officially renamed the Eastside Sports Complex in honor of local businessman and philanthropist Richard A. Castro during its meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 6.

The park, located at 14380 Montwood Drive, will be called the Richard A. Castro Eastside Sports Complex to honor Castro’s years of “outstanding dedication” to the El Paso community, according to the City Council agenda.

“This is something that will be around for many generations to come, way after I have said goodbye. It is something my family and friends can celebrate and be at while they think of me,” Castro said.
