FORECAST: KTSM has issued a Weather Authority Alert due to a significant drop in temperatures as well as the possibility of intense rainfall overnight Wednesday night. Wednesday will start out partly cloudy early in the day but will turn overcast by afternoon with an approaching low-pressure system. Wednesday’s high will be 64 thanks to the SW winds, and we should see rain beginning to fall by mid evening (6 PM, give or take). The SW winds will pick up and gust near 25 mph. The most intense rainfall will happen between 9 PM and 3 AM Thursday morning. Thursday will start out with early morning rain, but the rain will taper off by mid-morning. Expect only isolated showers here and there later in the day. The chilly, gusty winds move in out of the west-NW at 10-35 mph. Thursday’s high: 57. Friday will feel even colder. Even though the skies will be sunny, the gusty winds will have a significant wind chill factor. Friday’s high will be 52, and you should have a big coat ready for the winds.
