Three police officers shot in Juarez

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – Several individuals are in police custody in Juarez, Mexico, in connection with the shooting of three Chihuahua state police officers at a gas station on Thursday.

The shooting claimed the life of one of the officers and left the two others injured by gunshots.

The deceased officer, identified as Edgar David Quesada Villa, worked as a drone operator. He was apparently engaged in a surveillance mission in the Fuentes Los Nogales neighborhood and was attacked when he and two peers took a break to gas up their vehicle, police at the scene told Border Report news partner ProVideo.

State police spokesman Jorge Villegas said paramedics, state and municipal police officers immediately responded to calls for help from the victims. One of the officers died at the scene and the two others were taken to hospitals with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Villegas said.
