City of El Paso opens warming centers as temperatures drop

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — As the temperature is expected to drop over the next few days, the City of El Paso is offering library and parks and recreation locations as warming center options to help residents who may need a safe and warm place to stay, according to the City in a news release.

Recreation centers

  • Valle Bajo (7380 Alameda)
  • Marty Robbins (11620 Vista Del Sol)
  • Galatzan (650 Wallenberg)
  • Nations Tobin (8831 Railroad)

Hours of operation:

  • Mon.-Thurs: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Friday, Saturday: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Sunday: Closed

In addition, a limited number of blankets will be available upon request at the recreation centers during regular operating hours. Availability is subject to supply, according to the news release.
