Auditions for La Reina Que Quiero Ser, an El Paso–based short film inspired by the enduring legacy of Selena Quintanilla-Pérez, have officially been canceled.
Casting was originally scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026, on the center courtyard stage at The Outlet Shoppes at El Paso. However, in an email sent to Tejano Nation, the production team confirmed the decision to cancel the casting event due to changes in the film’s production schedule.
“Please be advised that the auditions for the project La Reina Que Quiero Ser, originally scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026, at The Outlet Shoppes at El Paso, have been canceled,” the statement read. “Due to changes in the production schedule, we are no longer moving forward with this casting event.
