EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Anthony Middle School ranked No. 1 across all middle schools in the El Paso region for 2024-2025 for serving in a predominantly low-income community but still achieving high academic results.
The ranking was done by a non-partisan research and advocacy non-profit organization, Children At Risk. The organization is dedicated to “understanding and addressing the root causes of child poverty and inequailty,” read the release by Anthony Independent School District.
This year’s ranking was based on several factors, including student achievement, campus performance, student growth and college readiness, according to the Children At Risk’s website. In addition to the factors, the organization had a sub-category, called the “Gold Ribbon School,” that highlights schools that were high-performing, high-poverty schools in traditional neighborhood campuses.
