EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A little over a year into his new role as Mayor for the City of Socorro, Rudy Cruz Jr. has overseen a variety of economic, infrastructure, and regional partnership initiatives for a city that continues to see tremendous growth.
Mayor Cruz and the City of Socorro are entering the new year by pursuing the Horizon Boulevard Rail Grade Separation Project, which will construct a grade-separated overpass at the Union Pacific Railroad crossing on Horizon Boulevard. This essential infrastructure aims to eliminate delays caused by train crossings while improving safety and mobility at an estimated cost of $35.6 million.
