El Paso City Council moves to cancel unfunded construction projects

The El Paso City Council is poised to cancel several planned construction projects.

During its meeting Tuesday, Jan. 20, the City Council is expected to approve the cancellation of multiple projects over a lack of funding and other issues.

First on the chopping block is a section of the proposed Montana to I-10 El Paso Electric Corridor, a trail identified as part of the 2012 Quality of Life Bond. The project, originally estimated at just over $551,000, is being “deprogrammed” due to “insufficient available budget.”…
