Cousins Maine Lobster spent the last week of January serving the West Texas area, and saying goodbye. Saturday was the last day for the truck that also served the greater West Texas/ Eastern New Mexico area. However, that doesn’t mean you’ll never see Cousins Maine Lobster in Lubbock again.

Why Is Cousins Maine Lobster Quitting Lubbock?

While no specific reason was given officially for the closing, I think it is reasonable to consider a few factors as possible explanations. For one, the price of lobster is very high, meaning that the consumer must pay that cost too. Most West Texas folks are not really looking for $30+ per person meals from food trucks, even if its freshly flown in from Maine.

Additionally, the reviews for the truck were mixed on Facebook– with many folks feeling like the portions were not satisfying versus the price. Take that with some grain of salt, as people are more likely to complain than compliment…
