Affidavit: Driver of wrong-way DWI crash had an open bottle of Fireball Whiskey

EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 34-year-old man, who was arrested over the weekend for driving while intoxicated on the wrong side of the road and causing a crash on Transmountain, had an open bottle of Fireball Cinnamon Whiskey inside his car, according to an arrest affidavit.

According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday, Fili Alberto Garibay was driving a 2018 BMW 330i going the wrong way when he crashed into a 2016 Chevrolet Spark on Transmountain Road (Loop 375 mile marker 19) at around 9:30 p.m.

Garibay then reportedly tried to run after the crash and was held by bystanders until authorities arrived…
