Michelob Ultra El Paso Marathon ambassadors share love of running

On Sunday morning, sometime between 9:30 and 10 a.m., the top runners are going to be led to the finish line at the Michelob Ultra El Paso Marathon in a siren-blaring police escort, collect their medals, do interviews and be feted as the champions of El Paso’s biggest running event.

Whoever those top finishers are will be the first to understand there will be an estimated 7,000 winners Sunday at San Jacinto Plaza. On some level, the Michelob Ultra El Paso Marathon, the Raiz Federal Credit Union Half Marathon and the Spine & Rehab Specialists 5K Run/Walk will crown champions, but what they really are is a celebration of the El Paso running community, of El Paso, in general, and of life.

That’s embodied by the El Paso Marathon ambassadors, who have spent the last months turning this into the biggest-ever version of the race through community outreach, promotion, recruitment and generally sharing their love of their sport…
