EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Anthony High School had 13 out of 29 of its band students qualify for the Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest that will be held in May.
This is a new milestone for the Wildcat band, as it broke last year’s record of 11 state qualifiers, the district said. For a band that totals 29 student musicians, it represents 45% of the overall 2025-26 band.
Band students competed in early February at the University Interscholastic League (UIL) Region Solo and Ensemble Contest at Hanks High School.
