El Paso ‘angel’ stops teen accused of robbing 85-year-old woman

A laborer received praise from the El Paso Police Department for his quick action in stopping a man who had just allegedly stolen an 85-year-old woman’s wallet at a West Side store.

The theft occurred on the morning of Feb. 18 while the woman was shopping inside the Dollar Tree store at the Coronado Shopping Center in the 5900 block of North Mesa Street near Shadow Mountain Drive, police reported.

“I was at the dollar store, turned my back for second … he grabbed my wallet out of the basket,” the woman told an officer in an EPPD news release video featuring clips from officer body camera footage…
