4 measles cases confirmed in El Paso; 13 at Camp East Montana

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The City of El Paso’s Department of Public Health (DPH) has confirmed four measles cases within the City of El Paso, the City of El Paso announced on Thursday, Feb. 26.

The newly confirmed cases involve a man in his 20s, a man in his 30s, and two women in their 30s with unknown vaccination statuses.

City confirms 2 cases of tuberculosis at Camp East Montana

Public health officials have initiated contact tracing to identify potential exposures and are coordinating with community partners to prevent further spread of the virus, and to ensure readiness and timely communication, the City said.

In addition to the cases confirmed within the City of El Paso, DPH is aware of 13 additional measles cases reported at the Camp East Montana migrant facility, which is outside the City’s jurisdiction. Case information for this facility is reported through federal authorities.
