City says shutdown has not impacted El Paso airport

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — While long lines have been reported at some major airports across the nation during the partial government shutdown that is impacting the Homeland Security Department, City of El Paso officials say El Paso International Airport is not being impacted.

“Local TSA personnel continue reporting to work, and screening operations remain ongoing,” the City of El Paso said in a statement.

Staff at the El Paso airport have also been coordinating with local partners to support Transportation Security Administration employees during the shutdown…
