El Paso woman sentenced for role in deadly oyster bar shooting

A woman was sentenced to five years in prison for her role as the driver during a deadly shooting outside a bar in El Paso’s far East Side four years ago, court records show.

Rachel Ramona Rivota was accused of driving the car used by Alexander Diaz, who last year pleaded guilty to murder in the shooting death of Christopher Ryan Correa, 35, outside the 10-4 Oyster Pub on Sept. 18, 2022.

Rivota had been scheduled to go to trial on a murder charge in early March. But the trial was canceled after she pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on Jan. 29 in the 171st District Court, according to court records…
