Man found guilty by Otero County jury of evidence tampering in 2021 El Paso murder

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — An Otero County jury found a man guilty of tampering with evidence on March 16, following a 2021 homicide that happened in El Paso, according to the 12th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

As KTSM previously reported, on Nov. 17, 2021, then 35-year-old Jevare Stephawn Freeman-Handy killed 37-year-old Rodolfo Fuentes along the 900 block of North Zaragoza.

Murder suspect bond set at $2 million in East Side murder

Freeman-Handy, along with his girlfriend Sunshine Urbina, placed Fuentes’ body into Fuentes’ vehicle and transported the body to Chaparral, New Mexico, according to the DA’s Office.
